Join Gerilyn Larsen, Resident Artist at Daylight Artist Collective for a fun hands-on workshop where you will learn the basics of Coptic stitch bookbinding. Through this workshop, you will learn all the skills needed to complete a handmade art journal. We will discuss the history of the Coptic stitch as a binding technique and touch on art journaling leading into a second workshop (coming soon!) where we will start to fill our books.
Gerilyn will guide you through the process of material selection, preparing signatures, and mastering the stitching technique. You will leave the workshop with a completed journal and the essential tools to craft more books independently!
This will be a relaxed workshop located in our cozy studio on the third floor (stair access only) of a historic uptown Westerville building. All class materials and light refreshments will be provided. You will receive a kit to take home containing: waxed thread, curved needles, awl, snips, paper folding tool, and a pencil ($20 Value), a completed art journal made of watercolor paper with a chipboard cover.
Join us for an afternoon of creativity, camaraderie, and fun in our sunny studio space! Limited seats are available😊
